Topsail Beach
Pastel - 24 x 18 inches - 2002
I like to brew a cup of coffee and walk to the empty beach to enjoy its early morning solitude, and watch the sun rise.

The lone piece of art in our bedroom. Don’t seem to want or need anything else. Soothingly peaceful, serene. “Feng shui” translates to “wind-water” in English and is a cultural shorthand from the Chinese pasage “Qi rides the wind and scatters, but is retained when encountering water.” This piece captures, and magnifies, that moment.
