Autumn Farmstead
I captured this view when driving east on Lower Twin Road between South Salem and US 50, west of Chillicothe.

Creek Bank

Creek Beyond the Trees
For my first of two paintings, I chose to turn my easel away from the creek and capture the trees and brush above the bank. The sun was having trouble finding room to shine through the the thick foliage. Later, I turned my easel in another direction to capture the muddy creek water beyond the arching trees on the bank and nearer to the creek.

Tenant House
This is a painting of the Tenant House at the Adena State Memorial—Thomas Worthington’s historical hilltop home in Chillicothe. (Large View)

House on a Hill
If you look east down Main Street towards Mount Logan you’ll see a solitary farm nestled in a clearing along that ridge. This is a view of it in early spring when the trees were beginning to bud and the grass was turning green. (Large View)

Main Street
If you stand on Carlisle Hill and look towards the East, you can see forever down the length of Main Street. This may be my favorite view of Chillicothe and its surrounding terrain.

Cemetery Hill
It’s always a pleasure to see this large valley open-up towards the north just before entering Adelphia on Route 180. The road ascends a small grade where a cemetery rests, and from there you can view a beautiful panoramic scene that stretches for miles.

Darby Farm
This farm rests just north of Circleville where Route 104 crosses Darby Creek. The complex of buildings used to include a Victorian style home which was razed a couple of years earlier. The remaining buildings took on a loneliness after its departure.

Concord Church
This church dates back to the mid 1800′s and is rich with history. It was part of the Underground Railroad that helped slaves from the South find freedom in the North during abolition.
